As of June 2014, the town had an estimated population of 1,507 and a population density of 5.73 persons per km². The total area was 263.00 km². ==Geography== Shichikashuku is located in the far southwestern corner of Miyagi Prefecture in the Zaō Mountains, bordered by Yamagata Prefecture to the north and west, and by Fukushima Prefecture to the south.
